In its initial phase, the Solander Program will offer scholarships to enable younger scientists to:

Undertake shorter-term (1–12 month) collaborative research projects, taking advantage of the host university’s wealth of techniques, highly specialised (and often unique) apparatus, to visit advanced field stations in regions of outstanding scientific interest, or to discuss their ideas with world authorities in their field.

Undertake a short and intensive course related to their research. Lund offers a very large number of high-quality specialised postgraduate courses in English across a variety of disciplines. These typically run for two or three weeks full-time, may be theoretical in nature, or involve learning a specific technique. Excellent courses are also available in the participating Australasian universities (for example, the UpSkills Program in Melbourne). Successful applicants will be required to stay an extra two weeks as the guest of a host department.
